what is it?
Adopt a Classroom is our unique way of showing every student and teacher in our partner schools that their community is invested in them. Because we believe relationships change lives, our program centers on community building and connecting givers and receivers. We provide new, wrapped toys and gifts to every student and teacher in our partnered schools.
how does it work?
Organizations, businesses, and individuals help us provide gifts by sponsoring classrooms at our partner schools through gift giving or financial support.
gift
giving
Sponsors who adopt a classroom in this way are assigned a specific classroom to purchase gifts for. Sponsors are given the numbers of boys and girls in their assigned classroom along with a list of suggested age-appropriate toys. Gifts are asked to stay within the $10-15 price range.
financial support
Financial support is another way to sponsor Adopt a Classroom. Donating $250 allows us to purchase gifts for each child in a classroom on the sponsor's behalf.
how can I get involved?
Volunteers are central to Adopt a Classroom. Even if you are unable to sponsor a classroom, we would love to have you participate in the events surrounding Adopt a Classroom.
Wrapping Night
Our annual Wrapping Night is a great time of community building as college students, community members, teachers, and administrators come together to wrap all presents to be delivered through Adopt a Classroom! Typically held at Clemson United Methodist Church, this event consists of free food, Christmas cheer, music - and a whole lot of wrapping!
delivery days
Delivery Days are some of our favorite days of the year! Volunteers are assigned to a classroom and get to meet the students, form relationships with them during their lunch and recess periods, and return with them to their classroom to distribute donated Christmas presents and share with them in a Christmas celebration.
